Vision: New Yorkers will achieve well being through optimal nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
Mission: The NYS Nutrition Council serves the people of New York by fostering collaboration among individuals, agencies, educational institutions and other
groups to provide food and nutrition education and to influence related public policy.
The purpose of the organization is to assist the people of New York State in obtaining and achieving
optimum nutrition through
1) the promotion of cross agency communication, 2) dissemination of reliable sources of nutrition information and identification of opportunities for continued professional development via electronic and newsletter networks, and 3) coordination of efforts to influence state nutrition policy.
