Linda Murphy, Past Chair & MembershipLinda Murphy is a registered dietitian with a BS in dietetics from SUNY Oneonta and a MS in Health Education from Russell Sage College. Linda currently works for the New York State Department of Health with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Helene Messner, Chair-Elect & Liaison NY FCS Helene Messner is a Registered Dietitian and holds an MS degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Mansfield University, Mansfield, Pa. She has held various positions in teaching, consumer services for a public utility and as a Manager of Health Professional Programs for the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council across upstate NY. She is an ADA member and is currently involved in several leadership positions in NYSDA, GDA and ADA-DPG. Beverly A. Roe, Treasurer Beverly Roe is presently Biology Department Chair and professor of Microbiology at Erie Community College, South Campus, Orchard Park, NY. She instructs Allied Health students in Microbiology and Nutrition and holds a BS in Biology, MS and PhD in Microbiology. She is a Specialist in Microbiology certified by ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists). Pat Kuhl, Secretary Patricia Kuhl is employed by Child Care Solutions as a Nutrition Specialist. She has many years of experience in community nutrition programs and has taught at the middle school, high school and college level. Patricia is a Registered Dietitian and certified in NYS as a Health and Family & Consumer Science teacher. Janine Brady, Nominating Committee Janine Brady is a Registered Diet Technician from Penn State University. Janine works at WCA Hospital in Jamestown as the Supervisor of Nutritional Services. Her interests include weight loss management and promoting healthy eating for children and adults. Vanessa Hoffman, Liaison Legislative Vanessa Hoffman is a dietetic intern in the Cornell Dietetic Intern Program in Ithaca and Rochester. She received a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University in 2007. Sue Travis, Historian Sue Travis is a nutrition educator who has worked at national, state and local levels. For 18 years, she was a state nutrition specialist with the Division of Nutritional Sciences and Cornell Cooperative Extension at Cornell University. She is the community nutrition coordinator for the Cornell Dietetic Internship program and teaches nutrition communications/counseling and sports nutrition at Cornell. Sue also does private nutrition counseling for youth and adults specializing in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. Sue has a BS in animal nutrition, an MS in human nutrition from Colorado State University, and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. She is a registered dietitian and certified dietitian-nutritionist. Heather Fiore, Councilor Editor, Web Administrator Heather is a Registered Dietitian and holds a Masters of Science in Health Education from SUNY Brockport. She also completed a one-year interdisciplinary fellowship in adolescent nutrition in the Adolescent Medicine Division at the University of Rochester. She works at the Children’s Diabetes Center at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.
